DescriptionAfter disintegrating Retro Girl’s killer in front of the assembled police, Triphammer and (his former teammate) Detective Walker “share a moment”. After he warns the police to stop firing their weapons so they won’t be hurt by the deflecting projectiles, Triphammer explains to Christian his logic behind his act of murder.A heavy moment that still felt like a sugar rush after the luscious noir tone of the first five issues, this was an unforgettable way to cap off the first arc of ‘Powers’. The third of three boards I’m posting today that capture a meaty chunk of this thrilling narrative sequence - please see the others to fill out the story beat! Social/Sharing |

It's always so satisfying to get sequential pages from a story. I'm really digging the artistic style of Oeming. And of course, Bendis's storytelling is always top notch. Major congrats!!

Never really read Powers but I've always admired Oeming's approach to page design and sequential storytelling. The sequence you've assembled really showcases Oeming's strengths across the board.

Once again, a beautifully lit, high contrast page! What an amazing, five page consecutive sequence you managed to acquire. The diagonal tilt in the last panel, combined with the up shot camera angle really ramps up the tension. Like Zod has come to kill us all! It's all very exciting looking stuff. I just might have to read this series some day. I wonder if it's available in the form of a couple of omnibus volumes....

...then the aftermath with a nigh invincible Triphammer. Love that shot of a maddened Walker there followed by the closing shot of TH, always floating above the rest of the characters. Super effective 5 page sequence post, Jason, congrats!

That upshot of Triphammer makes it my fav' of the 3 you posted. I also like how Oeming did not draw anything (pulse, energy, fire, beam) coming out of his boots (like most artists would have). He is just floating there.
