Craig Thompson: OGRE vs bunny #1-4 (1999)

Ooh, a rare Craig Thompson piece on CAF. Lucky you, mind sharing the story behind this?

Hi Satya, I wish I had a better backstory, but I managed to find this on ebay about a year ago. The seller was a family-owned antique and collectibles store. Maybe the most interesting part is that when it arrived, I could tell that the glass on the frame had shattered during transit! It took me several hours to carefully extract the artwork from the broken glass - thankfully the damage to the artwork itself was minimal if at all! 

Thanks for asking about the piece. It's one of my favs in the collection, but doesn't get much attention here on CAF for some reason. Craig is such a great illustrator-storyteller.
