DescriptionAs part of an extended dream sequence involving her male counterpart Vampirello, Vampi explores a gothic castle (if that’s not redundant) in the company of an anthropomorphized version of her cat Grit. They study a map of the castle, which happens to be shaped like a skull. I got this page mainly on the strength of the top panel, for which Belanger went all-out, rendering the opulent interior with a fine line. Check out the inlaid floors, the statuary, and the decorated arches. Vampi eschews her usual slink suit for a classy ball gown and platform heels. Belanger was thinking of the elegance of Audrey Hepburn for this design. Social/Sharing |

Dynamite work by Belanger! I think the publisher wanted to tap into the Furry fandom and maybe even tried it out for himself. It may have been moving in on the Omaha the Cat Dancer territory.
