DescriptionEn 1916 el periodista Narcís Masferrer, los hermanos Molins, el ingeniero Francesc Xavier Lluch, los pilotos Lluís Armengué, Josep Maria Armengué y Frederic Armengué, el empresario Francesc Abadal y los hermanos Molins decidieron fundar la Peña Rhin para promocionar los deportes del automovilismo y del motociclismo. Organizará los acontecimientos deportivos más importantes de España y en un referente del sur de Europa.Se disputaron las siguientes carreras; • Villafranca del Penedés en 1921 (Pierre de Vizcaya, España, Bugatti), 1922 (Kenelm Lee Guinness, Reino Unido, Talbot) y 1923 (Albert Divo, Italia, Talbot) • Montjuich en 1933 (Juan Zanelli, Chile, Alfa Romeo), 1934 (Achille Varzi, Italia, Alfa Romeo, 1935 (Luigi Fagioli, Italia, Mercedes-Benz) y 1936 (Tazio Nuvolari, Italia, Alfa Romeo) • Pedralves en 1946 (Giorgio Pelassa, Italia, Maserati), 1948 (Villores, Italia, Maserati), 1951 (Alberto Ascari, Ferrari) y 1954 (François Picard, Francia, Ferrari) También patrocinaron la construcción del Autódromo Internacional de Sitges-Terramar. Organizaron, entre otros, el Gran Premio de España de 1923 o las carreras en cuesta de la Rabassada y del Tibidabo Social/Sharing |

Very cool as driving in 1916 was still new and so was competitive motorsports. Put into the context of promoting the sport, you can see the power of the comic artform to shape public opinion.

Totally agree. Muntañola was a clear exponent of comics as an advertising tool. Today's companies should take note today and opt for the personal and original art work of artists over an AI that raises doubts regarding copyright!
