Yup, two half-splashes with three inset panels. All coming together to make for a nicely balanced composition with some nice, high contrast blacks and whites. By the way, I'm just here in case of interest.
At a first glance (at the thumbnail..I was thinking ..Sin City? Great looking page. Congrats!
Very strong page where the scale and gravity of the situation at first overwhelms the Flash, but then hears a feeble voice calling for help. That's when he forgets his own fears and becomes a selfless hero. While the scenic vista may be sell done, the Flash carrying the Pied Piper is the emotional hook to the page. Lightle's brush and illustration linework styles mixing together is some of his most sophisticated work.
GORGEOUS!
Fantastic, some lovely lettering on that page too.
Exquisite storytelling with those inset panels split between the 2 splashes...also love that use of shadow. Emotive, and ups the sense of atmosphere. Great Lightle example, F M, congrats!
Super slick page, FM, featuring beautiful pictures by Lightle that never -once- let you forget that you're in a -very- inhospitable environment. Great point about the snow around the boots and bodies; some splendid focus by Steve. Those inset panels are fantastic, too, adding even more environmental texture (with the rushing wind in the top two and the rocky ground on the lower half). Love Flash's lightning path in the lower inset, nestled in among the black background panel. Really sweet work, FM - congrats again on scoring the full story!
