Description

Mister Miracle by Ron Randall. The final sketch in my JLU sketchbook. I started this project back in 2019 and finally completed it in 2024. Mister Miracle was in one very excellent episode of Justice League Unlimited, with Flash and Big Barda, and I knew I wanted to end the book with him, as he was always my favorite Fourth World character growing up (most likely because of his time in Justice League by Giffen, DeMatteis, Maguire). I won't lie, I chose Ron Randall because I like his work, but also his prices were very reasonable. The first two artists I looked at were charging between $200-$300 for a bust shot. I decided to walk the show floor at Baltimore Comic Con to see if I could find something a little more affordable. I found it! Ron charged $60 fully inked bust shot. I love the way this turned out with the shading and the ink wash. It almost makes me want to start another sketchbook...almost!

Congratualtions on completing a sketchbook! Always a great achievement with the many miles and stories accompanying it! This is a nice one by Randall who gives Mister Miracle a more distinct facial expression than other artists would with those intense eyes!

Thanks Marcus! I always appreciate seeing your comments. It was a fun project but I am also glad to be done.
