Description

Any day that I can add another Barney Google daily to my collection is a great day. For some reason, there have always been more 1931 dailies available than any other year, which is fine by me, as it's DeBeck's prime period. I love the pen work in this piece, from the close-ups in the first panel, to that breezy pen and brush work in the second panel. Even the blue pencil drawing, to indicate where the Ben Day shading would go, has liveliness to it. The daily was published on May 12, 1931

The quintessential rich monopoly cartoony guy look! They might have saved these because it was such wonderful examples.
