Love this marvelous woman's work!!
Beautiful piece and beautiful artist
What a great classic Doctor Strange splash page!!!
I've never read this story. This is one beautiful page.
Magnificent, Ron. Marie was mentioned at Ramona Fradon's memorial panel in Baltimore on Sunday. How fortunate we are to have such a significant body of work from these two trailblazers.
Greatness of the Marvel Silver Age on display! Marie Severin knew the understood the Ditko Doctor Strange vibe and leans into the pop art psychedelic worlds of 1967! Not only are the ideas fresh, an image like this could have hung on the walls and be stared at for hours on end if one's mind was unlocked.
Wow. A magnificent splash page. Congrats!
Superb splash, Marie on Dr. Strange is always a winner!
Love Trimpe's inks on this. Spectacular page!
A thing of beauty, Ron - per usual!
I love those 2up splashes, and Trimpe's inks are particularly sharp here!
EXTRAORDINARY SPLASH! HATTS OFF TO MARIE SEVERIN
Great title page Ron.
I love this art team on this splash. The pencils and inks sing in combination. So good.
classic Title Page from a legendary pair, congrats and thanks for sharing it!
As noted in the credits, a "Talismanic tour de force!"
That Living Tribunal is a bit judgemental, aren't they? I mean, do they not know the meaning of the word unwittingly? Three faced heads are clearly not better than one.
Marvellous Marie Splash, Congrats!
Twice Up Marvel Magic - Congrats!
Masterpiece.
Very nice!!
Silver age gold!
Really beautiful Ron...and definitely wall-worthy. Congratulations on another stellar piece!
Huge congratulations Ron on this amazing piece! I love everything about it. The Living Tribunal first appearance expertly and beautifully drawn by Marie Severin. It really leaps off the page and screams read this amazing story about the Sands of Death....so classic.
Beautiful!
Spellbound.
Such a great page! The Living Tribunal Was one of my favorite cosmic entities to spring from the pages of Dr. Strange.
Doc Strange is a definitive test to gage artists's imagination and creativity. AAA+
Many congrats, Ron! Like many others, I remember this particular issue and title page very well indeed.
Classic title page- congrats.
I feel like Marie's best work was done during her relatively short run on Strange Tales, especially if you've ever seen any of these pages in person--at large art size they're really fantastic. And this might be the best of the best! I've seen this page before but didn't realize it was inked by Herb Trimpe--maybe another reason it stands out so spectacularly; love how the linework is so defined. Amazing acquisiton--congrats!
I really, really like this page. Congrats.
Sweet! I almost bought this years ago - wish I had!
What a stunning and disturbing Doctor Strange splash from Marie Severin! I've always been a fan of Marie Severin--She knocks me out with the power of her pencils. And this splash is a perfect example! I love this image of the Living Tribunal--What a strange and yet marvelous creation! He looks almost like a three-faced spirit! Marie was always imaginative! And then, you have her drawing of Doctor Strange at the bottim of the splash, shrinking away from the frightenting Living Tribunal, holding on to his cape which is on fire! Handsomely drawn title splash beautifully inked by the great Herb Trimpe. Great pick-up, Ron!
Marie Severin does not get the credit she deserves for being such an accomplished artist for decades! Such a fantastic splash!
