Description
This is a very cherished piece in my house. As you can see throughout my gallery, I picked up a handful of pieces from Steven Cummings over the summer and we got to talking about what drew me to picking up the pieces.

I have a daughter with an unknown genetic disorder with an accompanying complex medical history. Included in her complex medical history is her diagnosis of Autism. As a parent of a child on the spectrum, I watched her progress through many stages. When she was younger, she did not show any signs of imaginative play and showed no interest in toys. It wasn't until about age four while walking through Target that I noticed she seemed drawn to a Grogu toy. At first my wife and I didn't think she really wanted it and maybe it was a fleeting desire, but then for Christmas I told my mother to get Grogu for her. My mom's gift went down as one of Adeline's most impactful gifts in her life. Adeline screamed and ran through the house so ecstatic to have received a Grogu toy. It truly seemed as if she finally found her first toy to have imaginative play with. Her play has never totally become normal with difficulties in social situations, frequent parallel play, and an inability to focus for more than short amounts of time. However, Grogu seemed to be the toy that she truly connected with for the first time. My wife and I caught Adeline talking to Grogu, which was a major developmental barrier bridged by this character.

I had told Adeline's story to Steven while purchasing the comic artwork to include my reasoning behind my purchases. Low and behold Steven added in this special gift for Adeline. A piece that took me back with surprise and total appreciation.

Lets just say Adeline went literal bananas when she saw this. When I explained that it was a piece by an artist that did comic artwork for Grogu, Adeline again decided to scream in happiness. She was so excited she wanted to take a picture of her with everything Grogu to share her appreciation with Steven. My wife is not huge into my comic art collecting, but this even put a smile on her face.

Thank you Steven! This piece is amazing and I love seeing it hang in my daughters room every day.

Wonderful drawing.  Love the colors and that linework is so clean.

Have I told you lately that I Grogu?
Have Grogu there's no one framed above you?
Fill my art with gladness, take away Jedi sadness
Ease my troubles, that's from Grogu

For the morning sun in all it's story
Cummings page with hope and comfort too
You fill my Sith with laughter, somehow you make it Star Wars
Ease my troubles, that's all Grogu

There's a love bless Jedi
And its yours Adeline
From Steven
And at the Mando on page
We should give thanks and pray
From Steven, From Steven

Thanks Marcus!

Okay I'll admit it.  I got weepy reading your touching story about your daughter and her connection to this particular character.  But it also put a big smile on my face imagining your daughter's emotional reactions that you described so well.  So ... a bit of a roller coaster.  All in all, it makes me feel very happy that the combination of generosity and a beautiful piece of art can do such a wondrous thing.  Thanks for sharing, Ian!

If that piggy bank were to have an unfortunate fall, there may be another Guardians page in your future. Just sayin.

In all seriousness, I am super suprised it hasn't met it's untimely demise in her room. She got it when she was a baby, so honestly maybe it is time to see if pigs can fly lol.

Although, my guess is that there is a Bazooka Joe print and some bubblegum in my future.

Her Grandma just bought her some Grogu sheets for Christmas and tried to hide them in our house. Bad move lol. Adeline already found them and got them placed on her bed. Better luck next time Grandma!

Ian, what a moving story about your daughters special connection to a special character. Some (heartless sods) may dislike Grogu but clearly your daughter sees what most of us do; and that it has helped her express her imagination is just a wonderful reminder why many of us get into the hobby of collecting things that remind us of a more innocent and imaginative time in our lives. I wish her and your family continued blessings toward her health and happiness.
