Description
Okay the last El Diablo piece. I promise.

I can't say I was a big El Diablo fan but I have a fondness for it. It came out when I was trying and reading everything DC was putting out. I remember seeing the first cover and thinking it looked cool. It was a good read, street level hero versus street level crime, no Superheros and no supervillains. I'm surprised it lasted 16 issues.

Great early Mike Parobeck art from his first regular series. He would go on to do the short lived but well received 1992 Justice Society of America series and then find critical and commercial success doing Batman Adventures. Unfortunately Mike passed in 1996 at the age of 30!

I bought the last four El Diablo pieces all last year, including this cover. For a title that ran 16 issues there is hardly any art from the series out there. I did have one El Diablo cover prior to that, I bought it mostly because it has the (western) Vigilante on it. you can see it here El Diablo #12.

Glad to have the handful of pieces I have. Cool character from a fun time.

El Diablo #15 by artist Mike Parobeck and Paul Fricke. On a 11X17 board. 1990

Parobeck's covers are just different as they are used by him as a storytelling device!  He brings you in to the circus as our vantage point is El Diablo's from within the big tent and we see our reflection in the fun house mirrors!

I love these lesser used characters. Why are you promising this is the last El Diablo piece? You're acting ashamed when you should be proud. This is really fun stuff a a really nice change of pace! Weird but cool to see the inker of Trollords inking this, too.

Because this is the last El Diablo piece I have.  No shame in my game, I love the DC universe and all it has to offer. More to come (just not El Diablo).

I didn't know who Paul Fricke was. I thought it was a pseudonym, I had to look him up.

Yeah, I figured it was your last piece. But when you mention it by saying "It's my last piece. I promise.", it comes off like you're saying "I know you guys don't want to see too much of this stuff, so this is the last one.".

I KNOW you love this stuff!

Sad you aren't buying any more El Diablo but really hoping you at least keep buying balloons.
