Description

After the big fight, Nathan calls Alfa Agency for instructions.

(Darver via hologram) “Your report is clear, Nathan. You had a bad time at the spring. I'm glad you came out unscathed, even though that guy Frost took you by surprise. Furthermore, our investigations were going in the right direction, and now we will proceed with Bacon's arrest.”

“We might want to do it as soon as we get back to the city. We don't have to risk him learning about Frost and perhaps trying to escape.”

(Sigmund via hologram) “You don't need to come back to town, Nathan. I have been monitoring Bacon's movements since the beginning of your mission. He's in his villa now, just south of the big dam. I forwarded the route to your pilots.”

“That's great, Sigmund. We'll update you later. Nathan out.”

Meanwhile, at the Hidden Spring...

“Kyowa? Am I bothering you?”

“No, Carolyn. I retreated for a while here, to the banks of the river, to think.”

“I... I wanted to ask your forgiveness for what happened. I feel guilty because my presence brought Frost and his men down here.”

“Not so. Those like Frost or Bacon are born to do harm. They don't need excuses or reasons. They just do it, and sometimes there's no way to stop them. This time, it turned out okay.”

“You're thinking about the future, right?”

“Yes. Soon I will gather my people and talk to them. I would be happy if you and Bryan attend the gathering, in honor of your father.”

“Thank you, and... speaking of Bryan, I'm worried because I haven't seen him since everything ended. I can't figure out where he's gone.”

On the following pages, Bryan the robot goes to Max Powell's office at the dam. He greets the security system and plays videos of better days when the Powell family was still intact.

“Good morning, Bryan.”

“Confirm laser access code.”

“Hello, Bryan.”

“Dad! It’s good to hear from you again!”

“Come on, Bryan. Come play with us.”

“It's you, Dad! And Peter's here too!”

“Hi, Bryan.”

“Finally we can play again together again!”

Bryan explodes the supercharged battery in his chest, destroying himself and fatally damaging the dam, which begins to crumble. Uh oh! (Unfortunately, I don't own the pages with the explosion, but we'll see the aftermath.)

I love a good hologram meeting and Kyowa seems pretty wise. But sorry to hear that Bryan exploded off camera in our CAF version of the comic :-/

Hologram guy looks like he's at the kiddie table!  Dam Bryan, we hardly knew you.
