Gigantic birds wearing masks with human faces while shooting laser beams from their eyes - double check

I just couldn't pass up this fantastic title page by Murphy Anderson. I have wanted to pick up an example featuring the Winged Wonder for a while now, but with Adam Strange and the MANHAWKS -- that sealed the deal. I mean c'mon ... that is old school DC at its best (yes, and worst).

Also, feast your eyes on the ink work done in the upper left -- Shayera set against the planet Thanagar looking longingly into a beautiful sea of stars! The color version doesn't do it justice.

Classic horoscope illustration above and grand barbarian and sxci-fi adventure below! Murphy Anderson's finest work was during this period of time bridging DC to the golden age while pushing forward the artform.

Agree Marcus. Anderson was always known as a good inker for the likes of Gil Kane, Infantino, et al ... but his own fantastic skills as a penciller/inker were on full display during this run in the mid-60s.

A work of art. This beauty reminds me so much of Murphy's early work at Fiction House on Star Pirate (Which I cherish.). Just taken to an entirely different level. Can understand why you felt this one could not get away!
