Early Batphone, direct line to the police commissioner! A great full blown look at Perkins' design of Batman First Knight as he stalks the city! Full blown details from that wash ink art to give everything an aged photograph look. It might be that the realism makes the Batman more scary.

Amazing page. Love the layout, the details and the story telling in this piece. Also, the size of the piece is so impressive and gives the art amazing presence. Congrats!

When I first looked at this page, it did not escape my attention that it appeared that even at the very start of his crime fighting career, Batman already had better technology than even the police department themselves! I adore all the incredible attention to detail, which along with the overall realism of Mike's illustrative approach, is the very thing that I felt pulled me not just intothe story, but specicially into the Gotham City of 1939! The buildings in the bottom half-splash are so exquisite, as is the first "Batmobile". I also can't end this comment without mentioning just how much I love the closeup of Batman's face in the small inset panel. Just gorgeous. DC, we need more of this!

Holy Moly, Batman! What a terrific page from Mike Perkins' "Bat-Man: The First Knight." I loved this Noir version of Batman's story. Mike Perkins did an absolutely amazing job of bringing back the 1939 Batman to a modern audience. This is a particularly marvelous page from the book. I love all the '40s elements--The microphones, the car, the long ears on Batman's costume! Batman seems to inspire artists and writers to create some of their finest work on his titles. This one is no exception!
