New Mutants, Issue 16, Prelim Cover. Tom Mandrake

Terrific, vintage New Mutants cover that just takes you back with the action and the newness of a brand-new group of Mutants.

While not used as the official pencils for the cover, it's about 90+% the same with only minor shifts in the positioning of hands, feet, etc.  Being the first appearance of Warpath, this prelim technically is the first rendering into reality of Warpath.  As that isn't Mr. Mandrake's published signature, it must have been a staff for reference.  Note that you can find the details and listing on Heritage, Lot #74716, sold in 2008.
