DescriptionVintage Marvel Magic from 1968 by one of the masters Gene Colan with inks by Frank Giacoia (interiors are inked by Vince Colletta)I am primarily a panel page collector, but I admit covers are covers - and, who wouldn't like to have more covers. I remember this one well with its prominent yellow background and dominating central Medusa figure so when I saw this was available, I made a rapid inquiry and buy decision despite it being a bit of a budget buster for me. The cover presents super clean despite it having original art pasteups. I have had a few panel pages but didn't imagine I would own the cover so it has been a Medusa year for me with this and earlier a top-tier panel page. I will be adding more art to this theme gallery but it is safe that this will be the highlight! Social/Sharing |

Marvel magic is right! As someone who has yet to find a Colan example, you can color me twelve shades of jealous. Being a splash and cover guy myself, if you ever find yourself feeling like this doesn't really fit in your panel-centric collection, I would be more than happy to give it a good home. Haha! Seriously though, congrats on this absolute gem of a Colan cover.

One of the classic Marvel Super-Heroes books and always stops you in your tracks when you come across a copy of the comic book with how memorable it is!

Wow, wha t a fantastic piece! Medusa on a cover. Medusa with full figure in the front from behind, in action, fighting. Medusa drawn by Gene Colan and inked by Frank Giacoia. What more could you want ?

Wow! That has always been my favourite cover from the run. And it was so exciting to find those giant comics in a dealer's box. Colan used that motif of multiple action shots, from different angles, quite a lot in Daredevil. But I don't know that he ever used it to better effect than in this classic cover.
