Another breathtaking addition to an outstanding collection! You are definitely a man of a good taste - not caring for a lousy “brick toss” when he can get something like this! Herriman never did anything average or weak, his career was a thirty-year long “peak period”, but, as we can see, the prolific painting poet had a particularly lucky day from time to time…

Ah, so this is where this wonderful page wound up! And so close in proximity to my own gallery ~:c) Congratulations Christian! I consider this to be one of Herriman's very best Sunday pages. I can only echo Ulrich's comments: Herriman was right on the mark on this page, as well as on my own 1917 page, which falls exactly one week later. He was in a verbal/visual groove. I was the underbidder on this page when it showed up for auction, but I'm glad that it found a good home. If it would ever like another good home.... ~:c) Rob

Herriman did more innovative work in one day, one single Sunday, than most people do in a career. This is lovely.
