Description
Here is another Black Friday 2024 pickup. Someone, somewhere, mentioned a 20% off sale on Jenny Frison site. I'm kind of a fan, but kind of not, if you know what I mean. I decided to take a look anyway. Even with the discount, nothing really jumped out at me, until I got to the bottom of the page.

And there it was! A book I had never heard of, or seen before. Published way back in 2011. But, it was the cheapest thing on her site (around $500 shipped after discount), and as a bonus it kinda reminded me of The Spectre.

Like alot of her older covers, it consists of Pencil line art on white Bristol paper, and a seperate Grey paper with graphite, chalk, acrylic paint, and copic marker. The published cover is pretty cool too.

I can now check Frison off my list.

Nice pickup. Dark Horse always puts out some great but not the most hearlded work.

It's great as it uses the art nouveau aesthetic that harkens back to a time period when belief in the occult would be strong.  The same golden age  time period that the Spectre would be born.

Okay, you KNOW you're a hoarder desperate for your next fix when you start buying covers just because they kinda remind you of The Spectre! Nice though....

Interesting cover she did for the Dark Horse 25th anniversary! Personally I usually prefer the copics version of the image in her older covers like this but in this case I actually prefer the original linework. Looks close enough to Spectre ha, congrats.
