Description

11-2024...From November Comic Art Live, a big thank you to Kent Mansley for taking care of this piece before me. I am very happy to add a third Gibbons page from his GL run and this page has great interaction with Green Lantern, Flash, and Superman as GL contemplates quitting the superhero gig! Not sure what happened to the GL drawing of the transporter tube...maybe Gibbons drew him and then erased him based on the closeup?

Fantastic page, great story moment for that run and classic Gibbons on not just GL but two more DC heavy hitters. And such iconic action with Clark and Hal.

I love the way Superman and GL are discussing his issues while nabbing a bunch of villains, like two guys working on an assembly line performing repetitive tasks they don't even have to think about.  Len Wein and Dave Gibbons make a great team.

So true Steven! Superhero problems, amirite? And just how did a tank work it's way to the middle of Metropolis?! =)

Happy New Year to you!

OMG!  That's a tank!  I was so busy with the heroes, that I totally missed that.  Awesome!

Happy New Year to you, as well!!  : - )

I love those faces.  They all have that gentile unsure look that Gibbons would soon use on Night Owl in Watchmen later.  Pretty key moments of crossover fun to some big key issues of the series.

Absolutely Marcus! Who knows if I will ever get a Watchment page, but that is a big reason for me that I love the GL run. Prior to his most renowned work, Gibbons' skill was always there.

Thanks as always for your awesome comments Marcus! Happy New Year!

Gorgeous page!  I missed it when Joseph offered it, and at CAL as well.  Cognrats man!  Glad it's in such a great collector's hand and collection!
