10.5x15-7/8" artboard has pen and ink original art by Howard Chaykin for Star Wars #5, published by Marvel Nov. 1977. Art is for page 16 (see previous lot for page 15 original art) and is from Part 5 of Star Wars: A New Hope movie adaptation. Page features five panels and shows Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca aboard the Millennium Falcon, w/Leia's irritation w/Han spilling over from previous page and Han and Luke discussing Han's chances w/the Princess (much to Luke's obvious dismay). Leia only appears in first panel while Luke appears in every panel. Han appears in last three panels and Chewbacca is partially seen in two panels. Top margin has stamped "Star Wars" title along w/inked issue/page numbers. Top corners have been clipped and top/bottom margins have thin strips of aged tape/tape staining, not affecting art. Back has Marvel copyright stamp and two prices in felt tip pen (not visible on front) as well as strip of tape staining along entirety of outer edge. Artboard has lt. even aging w/some scattered faint age spotting at bottom corners and along right edge. Art remains clean and VF/Exc. Very few pages of original art from the film adaptation issues of Star Wars have ever come to market. This piece (and other Star Wars original art offered in this auction) is fresh to market and comes from one collector, and each is an incredible find.
