Empowered Vol 8 page 197 by Adam Warren

For a while now having art from Empowered was on my list. And while I did get the cover of that Adam Warren sketchbook, it didn't quite scratch the inch until I got this piece. It came up during the fall 2024 Comic Art Live for a decent price, but I still kept hemming and hawing. Things that went through my head:
Was this the "right" piece?
Should I wait?
OMG, I've already spent so much, I should pass.

I reached out to the seller and he said he'd still honor the price for a few more weeks while I thought about it. So I went and re-read the book. Sistah Spooky and Emp go to hell to rescue the soul of Mindf**k. This page is the climatic ending as they barely escape hell. Yup, I wanted it.

It's crazy to see that Adam did this level of detail with a pencil including the lettering which he inks over all on an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper!
