DescriptionI’ve been a big fan of Jorge Jimenez for a very long time. As a collector, it was always a bit of a bittersweet feeling that he mostly works digitally. That’s why I was even more excited about the opportunity for this commission, which is a tribute to one of his most legendary covers and the design of his Black & White statue. This piece is wonderful and I love the Joker + Punchline Graffiti :-) Many thanks to my friend Andy for picking it up at NYCC! Fantastic commission! Dont understand why he is not drawing his covers traditionally. He could do the layouts digitally and use traditional inks. Really could sell the covers for top prices.

A great looking commission. Stupendous figure AND background. As I looked at and studied it, I thought "It looks a lot like the pose is that of a statue built to honor Batman.", then I scrolled downand saw the extra image you included of the statue!

Looks great with the spotlights shooting into the air giving this piece a golden age big city feel!

Love seeing Jorge's traditional inks here! High drama with that lighting effect! The theme and very last scene from the first Keaton Batman film come to mind :) Congrats!

How cool. A commission from an artist who otherwise only draws digitally. I guess whatever it takes. It's a gorgeous commission from Jorge Jimenez. What I especially like is that Jorge has done the opposite of what most Batman artists do. Instead of focusing on everything that's black--Black Cape, Black sky, Black bats, he focuses on everything that's white. He uses the bright beams of searchlights to flood the page with white. The lights make the inside of Batman's cape look white and even his grey uniform appears white. And in so doing, the Dark Knight becomes the Light Knight. Cool pick-up, congrats!
