Later, the survivors recount events, and the final 'request' Draka made of them:
“These are the last words I remember hearing before I lost consciousness. The last words spoken by my father, the Master of the Night, Draka.”
“Unbelievable. I would swear I dreamed it all…”
“…if it weren't impossible that we all had the exact same dream.”
“But only those of us gathered in this room can remember it. Why…?”
(LaPierre) “Simple. Draka has the power to erase memories, and he has used it on the others. As for us… For various reasons, he wants us to remember everything. You and I, Herr Brand, in addition to this theme park, hold majority shares in the Gold Mining Conglomerate.”
“As did the late Vance.”
“Well said. If we don't want to end up like him, it is Master Draka's wish that we give up on turning the Alba Mountain area of the Carpathians into an open-pit gold mine.”
“Yes, I am aware of that strange request… and I will gladly give up several million dollars for the love of Sylvaine.”
“And for life, my dear!”
“An environmentalist vampire… It makes me smile.”
“The Masters of the Night have imponderable goals. Draka has appointed himself protector of these lands and is a conservationist, as perhaps you might expect from an immortal. Under the direction of Nina, Mirela and Cosmin, the Romanian government will transform that region into a park, part of the Breite Reserve. True, Mr. Minister?”
(The Romanian minister, whom I don't believe we've seen before) “It will be done! I am only sorry that I cannot tell this story!”
“Better not, if you want to live. As for Mr. Radu, he will manage Dracula Park with more modest means but greater security, once the bloodstains have been erased.”
“After all, among the guests there was only one victim, the German journalist, and the others will forget everything.”
“If you had lost your life, soldier boy, I would have destroyed the castle from the foundations, park or no park.”
“Luckily, the Jiang-Shi was also a creation of Vlatna. When he died, all effects of his poison dissolved.”
“Congratulations, Monsieur LaPierre. You seem to have become a true expert on Masters of the Night.”
“We'll see. I spent a few months in the company of your father, Mr. Draka. From now on, his will is law for me.”
Radu is pretty callous about the death of Ingrid. She was obnoxious. But Tesla has more empathy, imagining her own reaction if someone close to her had been the "only victim." Also, one of the female Szekely park employees was killed in the Iron Maiden by Countess Báthory, but maybe Radu didn't know about her. Or doesn't care, since she wasn't a guest.
The third panel is a classic theatre shot with all the characters facing the audience instead of each other. Note that Kurjak is holding Nina at that point, but then a few panels later Tesla is hugging Kurjak. Later issues show Tesla as Kurjak as a romantic couple, but I'm not sure when that element entered the overarching story of this series. Tesla has found another vest to wear; perhaps it's from the Dracula Park gift shop? Note Harlan's casual smoking in the last panel.
