Description

Cover for Swords of Cerebus 6, published in 1984. Gerhard has just joined the party, and it shows. Maybe not the best Cerebus cover ever, but certainly a serious candidate for the Most Lovely?

This cover, depicting Cerebus nursed by three students in a particular girlschool, was not only used for Swords of Cerebus 6. The tpb was to reprint the stories in Cerebus 21-25. Due to a misunderstanding, the first edition missed the story in Cerebus 25. Dave and Deni Sim decided to publish a separate supplement with the missing story. So this cover art can also be found on Supplement to Swords of Cerebus 6.

The foggy New England gothic aesthetic of the colonial period is used for this cover. It's made possible by the Gerhard crosshatches to look like it came from that period.

What a great Cerebus cover! I remember buying this swords of cerebus volume and really admiring this cover. Ah the memories
