DescriptionI love art of mermaids, but only if they're in that sweet spot between creepy/powerful, and beautiful. To me, naive or weak mermaids just don't make sense given all the dangerous stuff in the ocean. Further, most old school mermaid myths depict them as dangerous themselves.Anyway, this art hits that spot in a major way. It strikes me as "serious" fantasy, and I love what Hescox did here. I love art like this that tells a story in one image. In a frame and under glass, even the cheap frame I put it in, I think this one is really amazing. 22x28 oils Social/Sharing |
