Description

In 2023, the last day of Comic Art LIVE, I came across a penciled pin-up of Broadway's FATALE. Drawn by Geof Isherwood, it had been approved for publication 23 years earlier. Almost immediately thereafter, Broadway Comics was sold. The pin-up remained un-inked and unpublished.

The very nice Geof Isherwood not only sold me the piece, he also offered to send me a high-res scan if I wanted to find someone to ink it. Gary Martin, the man who wrote the book on inking, used Geof's scan to create this image. Both originals, pencil and ink, sit side-by-side in my home.

One last thing: Why did I give the pin-up this name? In another email, Geof shared a secret from his past. "PS: Shooter constantly complained to me that I drew Fatale's boobs too small. This one barely squeaked by, I'm sure."

Fun to see this go from prelim to "finished", after so much time, Gary's inks really enhanced her.

Haha, yea Fatale was busty, but few Breadway images overtly sexualized is her.
