Description
I've had this page for ~ 20 years...purchased from Mitch, according to my .xls.

I decided to post it now for two reasons:

1. I realized it fits in this first appearance/origin theme gallery as Dreadstar 1 is Willow's first appearance - and she is featured prominently on this action-packed page!

2. I showed it to Mr. Starlin at the 2025 Cal Comic Con and took a photo of him with it so thought, I should post the page.

This one has a doozy on the back - see the additional images!

It was great to see Jim return to the genre with this book.  I actually got a great Dreadstar cover directly from him at one of my very first San Diego cons.  I very stupidly sold it and have never been able to replace it.  Also strange that I have yet to see it resurface in the 25 years since I let it go.  Talk about black holes.  Anyway, great page from the first issue.

Swashbuckling sci-fi battle action in the front and classic superhero in the back with a sweet team shot.  Starlin could do it all!  This first issue launched the Epic line that got everyone's attention!

WOW! A page from #1 with Vanth AND Willow (one of my first serious comic babe crushes) AND from one of the issues that Jim inked!

This is pure gold!

I wish I could find a page like that in my collection after 20 years!

I liked the way this comic was drawn when I laid eyes on it as a 14 year old lad with coin to spare. Expert use of panel space by Starlin.

WOW ! Amazing details and the major characters in full action, very cool page from the first regular issue of a truly masterful and entertaining SF series by Thanos' creator!

Very cool page from Dreadstar #1 by Jim Starlin. Dreadstar was a fantastic swashbuckling space opera, with gorgeous art by a outstanding artist. But you don't see a lot of Dreadstar art on CAF, I wonder why. Admittedly Dreadstar was very much a comic book of its time, arriving in the era of popularity for Space stories, following in the wake of the success of Star Wars and Star Trek. But Dreadstar was a terrific book, with beautiful art and interesting charactersl This is a stellar page, with lots of exciting action. It's an excellent example from a much loved book. Thanks for sharing!

Top to bottom action scene storytelling at its finest from Starlin!  I still gotta get a piece by him.  And the back of the page...a whole other page :)  Congrats!
