Issue: 193   Page: 12

Description

Here is a great page featuring frequent Spidey antagonist, the Puma, showing his disdain for using doors. There is something weird going with the numbering of this page as it’s labeled on top as page 9, labeled as page 14 on the bottom as well as the top right hand corner but it appears as page 12 in the comic itself. So I assigned it as page 12 in my gallery and in the comic book database.

An added bonus for me was no Sal Buscema autograph within the art itself!

Edit: I was pleasantly amused to find out this original art page appears in the recently released 2025 Spectacular Spider-Man omnibus featuring the comic run by J.M. DeMatteis and Sal Buscema. Pretty cool!

But he didn't think it through very well since he now has to land (and walk on) shards of broken glass in his bare feet...

Once you see it's in the range of issues on this title, you're hoping to see some Puma!  Here he is in all his glory!

Hopefully The Rose doesn't hire Puma to show you in his full glory, too!

Thanks, FM!  Sorry I had to beat you on this auction but with all the awesome artwork you have, you got to let me have one minor villain page every now and then...

Yet another example of Sal's excellence in storytelling.  The layout is so well thought out.

I have always enjoyed Sal's artwork growing up reading the Marvel titles he helmed!  Thanks for the comment!

This is a fantastic page! The Puma's raw, untamed nature is on full display. His disregard for the conventional way of entering a room highlights his animalistic tendencies and adds a sense of chaos to the moment. Even without Spider-Man, the page pulses with energy and tension. The shocked man sitting in bed adds a nice touch of helplessness, while the Puma’s intimidating presence fills the room. It’s a great moment that showcases the Puma as a formidable threat!

Without Spider-Man's?  I would argue because of that webhead's absence is the reason this page pulsates with power and chaos!  Everybody knows Petey Parker is a wet towel and a debbie downer!

But seriously, I appreciate the comment!

This is when Thomas Fireheart was totally subsumed into the beastial nature of the Puma. The raw animal agression on display erupts through the page!

His animal rage "KRASH"-es through the page all right!

Yes!  LOVE Puma, especially when he was so prominently featured by Sal B in the Spec Spi issues!  Got those closer and closer head shots, then..."KRASH!"  Congrats!

Yes, Puma was so much better as an antagonist to Spider-Man than as an ally.
