Planetary 18 p3

John Cassaday

Planetary is my favorite of all the incredible work by John Cassaday. There wasn't a single un-amazing issue. Highlights for me were Elijah Snow crossing paths with John Stone. So, the first 3 pages to issue 18 are among the most memorable. Albert Moy had a recent update and one of these pages popped up in it. So unexpected. After gasping, I fumbled to put in a purchase request and feel fortunate to have acquired it.

Here, Elijah Snow meets up with John Stone somewhere in Texas. It's a funny and interesting exchange. At the end, John gives Elijah coordinates to a space capsule launched back in 1851. After 150 years in orbit, it's crashing to earth at specific place and time.

As John leaves, I choose to believe he only KO'd the poor pigeon with his cigarette butt. If there were a 4th page of this scene, we'd see Elijah create some ice to soothe the groggy pigeon. :)
