Description
I’ve been babbling for years about how much I love the Kane/Cockrum combo, well today I’m finally puttin’ up! I absolutely love that first issue of John Carter, and so wished Kane & Cockrum were the regular team. I’m particularly happy with this page for the Wally Wood inspired mind-warped use of zipatone at the top, the large John Carter closeup featured in panel 2, and the Warhoon battle at the bottom—just a little bit of everything I need!

Thanks, Mike!

Now this is putting your love for the Kane/Cockrum combo into action! The Wally Wood-inspired zipatone effect at the top adds such a cool visual texture, while that striking John Carter close-up in panel 2 really commands attention. And of course, it's a page from the very first issue! If only Kane & Cockrum had stuck around together for longer. A fantastic addition to your collection, Joe, beautiful page!

An absolute gem in the 70's sword and sorcery genre.  Gil Kane's anatomy shown off in the thark's anatomy with four arms and stretched height shown at an unusual angle that still works.  The John Carter up nose is so Kane!
