Description
X-Men #1 page!!! “From the Ashes”!!! Beast plays tour guide to the local sheriff for their new home, a reformed Sentinel factory.

New era of X-Men directly after the Krakoan era, which I really enjoyed, comes a page from the premiere issue, FIRE-BAPTIZED SPECIES.

This is the first piece of art I posted from this new era. I am enjoying it and trying to be open for the X-perience that it brings, not fully sold yet, but really wanted to get a piece of art from X-Men 2024 and this page fits the mold, so to speak. It’s my first real Sentinel art and adding another X-Men #1 page from a new volume works so great for this collection, thank you Grant Riddle.

This page features a great half splash reveal, that the new home to the main X-Men team is actually the towns Sentinel assembly factory and that the X-Men will be taking residence there (the dialogue is great). Beast confronts the sheriff kindly reminding her that this is a place that the town “manufactured” killing machines to mutantkind, and that the hard times the town is feeling now that their factory jobs are gone, after the X-Men saved them is a bit disingenuous.

It’s a great reveal and quiet moment for seeing these towering machines of destruction (Sentinels, first appeared X-Men #14, 1965; nearly 60 years earlier), now decommissioned and the home for the very things they were created to destroy. These moments in the X books are so well done and the long history with these deadly machines comes full circle in this new chapter for the X-Men. Their once comfortable kingdom in Krakoa is gone and they are now reminded daily of their new place in a world that still hates and fears them. But they continue to fight on and persevere.

this was one of the stand out pages from the new #1 for me from Stegman's art especially the Sentinel content in the bottom half splash. I didn't read further beyond that issue but now that a batch have been out I might try and catch up soon. congrats on starting a new X era within your collection art-wise!

Impossible not to love any page with Sentinels on it.  Especially when it's as well done as this one.

The Sentinel factory and assembly line must be for Hank like visitng Auschwitz.  Cold and eerie with the history of darkness inked in by Mayer.

Love that last panel featuring the Sentinels!  The large head that's mostly shadowed...so effective.  Great page from Stegman and Mayer!  Congrats!
