Mr. Miracle's pose is reminiscent of this painting I studied in college where the subject was in a similar pose but was tied to a wooden post and riddled with arrows. I forget the name of the piece but I'm sure you know. I thought a character like Green Arrow would have been perfect to replace the subject in the painting.

Hey Terrence~ You are refering to the rich artistic tradition of Saint Sebastian, which is where a LOT of inspiriation for this piece came from! Good eye!

Terrence is right the Mr. Miracle reminded me of the renaissance painting of Saint Sebastian also. A really beautiful, playful piece-very cool. Vincent
