Description
Rudy Palais' rare cover art dramatizes a scene from the issue's text story, with Captain Freedom diving into the depths to rescue Black Cat from the clutches of a massive, menacing octopus.

Rendered twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.25" x 19.25". Lightly toned, stat logo paste-up, and light handling/edge wear. In Very Good condition.

A great piece from the WWII era!  Look at all that detail for this underwater environment!  The figurework is quite advanced for that time period.  I'd take this unique cover over that treasure chest.
