I would change the dialogue at the end.  Instead of "I must say, senator...all is not lost for you!"  I think it should be "I think you are stupid for talking to a statue!"

Abe is thinking about how he didn't think of giving Canada statehood first.

Abe is wondering how much longer he'll be able to sit there for, before a memorial of Agent Orange sitting in that chair replaces him. Congrats on getting your first strip. Starting off with Stan Drake is quite an auspicious debut!
