Continuing with more art from my Original Comic Art Unboxing with Ruben DaCollector.

Ramona Fradon is one of the greatest comic book artists of DC's Silver Age. Her art shines with her unique combination of joy, fun, and luscious linework, all delivered in such a way to look almost entirely effortless. Her Aquaman work is deceptively simple with a cartoonist's skill at expressive faces.

Here we have a recreation of Showcase #31 featuring her best known characters Aquaman and Aqualad. Another great Fradon addition with great characters. She is joined by another great of the Silver age Marie Severin. Severin provides rich colors to Fradon's cover recreation. A beautiful collaboration of talents.

As fellow CAFer Arthur Chertowsky said "The King of the Sea by the Queens of comic art."

Aquaman was one of Ramona's best and most popular characters in her career! Marie Severin was recoloring those EC covers for reprint editions during that time period and took a lot of that expertise to this piece.

Great to finally see it at actual size. It's so beautifully vibrant! Those wacky sea creatures sure bring out the kid in us, don't they?
