Bringing Up Father Sunday 11-15-36 (King Features Syndicate, 1936)

This is the most chaotic Bringing Up Father we have ever seen. And it's one of the most interesting (and funniest). From the elegant and stately first panel with the snooty Maggie, and the ever lovely daughter Nora, you can see McManus' skill in both his clean-lined style and penchant for detail. However, in the large panel, that detail work shoots off the charts! Large "cluttered" panels full of hidden gems like this were very popular in other strips, such as Dudley Fisher's Right Around Home (featuring Myrtle), and the occasional Family Circus by Bil Keane.
