DescriptionRoger Robinson and James PascoeNo Man's Land was an interesting comic book event back in the late 90s. I liked how this Azrael cover tied into it. The map of Gotham in the background is so good. The city places on the printed cover are cool - Port Adams, Bob Kane Sound, Dixon Docks... It would have been extra cool if these details from the printed cover were on the pen and ink art. This updated Azrael costume kind of grew on me too. But, the original costume is such an amazing design. How could they not go back to it. I got this in a package deal many years ago initially for 3 covers. One was taken out. The dealer called and asked if it was ok to take one out to sell to another customer who he said really wanted it. Since I would still be getting 2 he wanted to satisfy the other customer also. It was nice he even asked and I appreciated that. So, I agreed. Unfortunately, that 3rd cover resurfaced for sale not even 2 months later. A peripheral early brush with flipping I guess. I'm not bitter, heh, I just remember it. How long do you keep something to NOT be considered flipping I wonder? Anyway, Thanks to the dealer on this really cool cover and to Roger and James for creating this fantastic artwork to a pretty big Batman related comic book event. Social/Sharing |

No Man's Land was pretty much the first big Batman family of titles crossover since Knightsquest that restored Bruce Wayne to the Batman mantle and put Azrael in his own title. I guess they waited 62 issues for an event big enough to unite the heroes again!

Such a cool Azrael cover from No Man's Land with the Gotham City map behind! That must have been frustrating to discover that the other collector flipped the cover you let go such a short time afterwards, an early lesson about the hobby, but congrats on this one (and the other one too presumably).
