Description
The Masters of Evil finally have the Avengers at their mercy in this dramatic depiction by Jusko (working off of Buscema layouts). This TPB was a reprint of the classic story arc that ran from Avengers #273-277, and I think it captures the story's mood perfectly. This has to be one of my favorite Jusko paintings. He doesn't do many team shots!

It has an image area of 18x24" and came with a similarly sized set of Jusko's pencils, working off of Buscema's layouts from another board. Many thanks to the artist for explaining that!

This is truly a phenomenal piece by Jusko ! I remember this cover fondly as I was reading tpbs to catch up on issues I had missed.

That was a hell of a bender last night!  At least the aftermath is captured in Joe's vibrant colors!

This was a fun piece! Those are actually my enlarged finished pencils (after John's breakdown) that I painted over. I have a scan of John's breakdown somewhere. I'll try to find it tomorrow!

In the great tradition of floating heads on Avengers covers!  A dramatic device that never fails!

Wow! Killer Joe Jusko painting for the Avengers:Under Seige TPB! I love these floating heads of the Villainous Masters of Evil hovering over the defeated bodies of the Avengers! (Who doesn't love floating heads?). I especially love the crazed look on Mister Hyde's face and the cold stare of Baron Zemo! Jusko did a stellar job here recreating John Buscema's pencils and bringing them so much life. Or perhaps I should say, death, looking at the defeated figures of the Avengers laying helplessly. Fabulous teamworky by Buscema and Jusko really pays off here big time! Stunning pick-up, congrats!

Beautiful, Dan! I love seeing Joe's paints over Big John's layouts! This story was my favorite of Buscema and Palmer's last run on the title! Congrats!
