Description
Argentinian reprint of the Winston original "Marooned on Mars" by Lester Del Rey, 1952. This edition from 1957, published in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1957 uses this artwork after Paul Orban who did the American original 5 years earlier. Some countries required a reprint publisher to have a local artist redo the cover to allow publication in their country. In this case the unknown artist did a great job recreating the Paul Orban original!

Pretty cool lighting from below!  The guard rails are a nice touch.  It's like they knew an enlightened civilization would have OSHA standards brought out into space.

This is wonderful.  I found the original first edition going for 25 to 196 bucks.  Worth every penny, for 'early juvenile science fiction.'  In junior high, I discovered Heinlein's Rocket Ship Galileo, and it got me hooked.  I'm going to have to look this one up.

Congrats on owning this classic piece.
