There's been a lot of beautiful Denys Cowan art posted in CAF this past couple of weeks. In Pure a coincidence I too have a Cowan piece to post.

In case you didn't notice I'm a big fan of Denys Cowan. Cowan being a founder of the Milestone line, I of course followed him there. The Milestone line was different, not just in the way they looked but in the way stories were being told. Perspective played a huge part in the Milestone line, stories were told from a street level. In 1993 when Milestone launched I was all in. It wasn't just that they were heroes of color, Milestone was full of great stories, art and characters. Icon, Rocket, Static, Hardware and the Blood Syndicate (my favorite title).

I had the pleasure of meeting Cowan and asked Denys which character was his favorite to draw. He said his own. Here's to Denys, Milestone and all the characters he helped create. Thank you for the joy and entertainment you provided.

Heavy metal Hardware! This was the style of the time to boost the physique and intensity to kick as much ass as possible!

Absolutely stunning Cowan art. The best part is that this is a rare piece showing Cowan's pure vision, as he rarely inked his own pencils.
