Description
Butch Guice died too soon. He was too young. His art was majestic. He was an artists artist. Butch was a tremendous artist and a great guy. He was an artist's artist. Getting better and better all of the time. He was one of the best artists the industry has ever had. Some consider his Captain America run was one of his best. I agree. Here's a page that I have from Captain America #600.

I remember reading his work from Micronauts, eventually Dr. Strange, X-Factor, Swords of the Swashbucklers, and so much more. But the first time I really appreciated his work was in Marvel Fanfare where they had a Butch Guice portfolio. Everything Marvel Fanfare was magic at the time, and Butch's art there even more so.

He took over The Flash at DC with Mike Baron when Wally West became the Flash. I got to know Butch more when the Death of Superman story was happening at DC. I was fortunate to be able to buy a Supergirl cover by him.

At Dynamite we worked with him and Bill Mantlo's brother for Bill on Swords of the Swashbucklers. He drew quite a few covers for us. Everything from James Bond to Masks, Green Hornet/Miss Fury, Game of Thrones, and so much more.
God Speed Butch. Your talent and work will live on forever. Thank you for making our world better having had you in it.

"I'm fine, Sam...I'm better than fine. ... It's Steve... I think we can still save him."
—Sharon Carter

Synopsis for "One Year After"
A year after Captain America was murdered, Sharon Carter remembers what happened, how did she kill Rogers. Then, she looks for a man who was Zola's spy too and after Carter confronted him with something that Fury gave to her, she finds the weapon that she used to kill Rogers. Then, in a cafe, the other Steve Rogers (the 50´s one) sat watching a TV program on the CNN in memorial to Steve Rogers, when a woman tells him that he is identical to Captain America. He remembers his surgeries, his first fights against the communists, and his cryogenic jail. In a Hammer's maxim security prison, Cross Bones pretends escaping with Sin, but he is captured. At the Avengers Secret base, Bucky and Barton are practicing when Black Widow fears about an "illegal" homage to Captain America at Central Park and tells Bucky that would be better to not assist because of the Osborne's Avengers. Then, in another place, Red Skull remembers his fightings against Captain America during WWII and reveals that he didn't want to kill him at all, but also torment him. That night, at central park, the Falcon and the Avengers are prepared for escaping if Osborne finds them, but he prefers to make a public advice, that the reunion was legal and that he honors Captain America as a real patriot. Everyone agrees at him and then Sharon Carter appears only for telling Bucky that Rogers could be saved!

When he started to use the photo references, it was very ahead of the game as it complimented his action layouts for a whole new experience!
