Description
Harvey Comics. October, 1951.

Pre-Code Harvey art isn't seen all too often, so while a house ad, for under $200 this seemed like a steal. All of the black ink at the top around the words "Terror to Weird", the word balloon and full paragraph of text below it are all original art/ink. The remainder is stat pasteups. Incredible to see the level of detail required of these creators, noting the areas where the text is created by SINGLE letters cut out and adhered to the board. I wonder how many comics were destroyed by kids because of this page, eagerly mailing in the coupon and waiting for their comics by mail.

Just under twice-up, the image area measures 12"x18". This page is in remarkable condition considering it is almost 75 years old, and mostly stats which are very susceptible to discoloring over time.

From the Roger Hill Collection.

Very visually appealing.  This big of an image, title, and lettering was mainly used for covers and you can see it was well worth the investment if it made them money.

I don't think I've ever looked at the text in a page as much as this. It's pretty cool and love the information you gave.

This is one of the coolest pieces on the entire site. I can't believe there aren't 100 comments...

I love this. You got a steal of a deal. Action Comics 1 had a coupon offer and it pains me to think how many issues were hacked up to mail in for a reaward :-( Congratulations.

A nice bit of GA history. It is great to see the detail of this one, and it really has survived remarkably well. So crisp!

Very cool!  Like getting a historic cover, a killer splash with hand-drawn titles and a promotion piece all rolled into one!  Congrats Phil!
