Neal Adams era X-Men team was a must as it introduced a level of realism that allowed for the more mature themes to be explored.

Interesting that this is a commissioned recreation piece of an X-men lineup illustration that was originally done by Patrick Oliffe and Joe Rubinstein.

Correct! It was one of my favorite images of the Neal Adam's team, had Neal tweak it adding Magneto instead.

Then was able to make it come full circle with Rubinstein coloring a scan of it
