DescriptionJamie Biggs outdid himself in this commission. It was well worth the wait. I wanted the 2 Steve Ditko superheroes that were my favorites, Spider-man and Doctor Strange. You can't have Doctor Strange without his original "Dark Dimension". Thus the premise. The rest is the crazy and creative imagination of Jamie Biggs. The detail in this is insane. You can flip this and it works. The background detail outer worldly. Jamie is known for his pencils that look like inks, the art doesn't look like pencils either, but damn it is tight and stunning. Thank you, Jamie. You knocked it out of the park. You did Ditko proud. Pencils and 11X17 illustration board. Social/Sharing |

An excellent piece reminiscent of ASM Annual #2 (when the pair first met)! There are hints of McFarlane as well (who was a great Ditko fan as well).

Jamie apologized, and wanted to redo the piece and redraw Spider-Man to reflect Ditko moreso. I couldn't have him do that after seeing this piece and all the work he put into the art. He admitted he leaned towards McFarlane.

The bonus is one gets to see Doctor Strange in McFarlane style as well! In fact, McFarlane probably bridges the gap between the original Ditko rendition of Spidey and the more modern versions.

Great astral plane madness! Bridges the Dikto and McFarlane era!
