DescriptionRecently I have been hooked on pulp comic characters such as The Shadow, Question, Wesley Dodds Sandman...etc and it's harder to find old pages that feature those characters than you would think. Why does everyone like what I like, the same time I like it? At least it feels that way.Bring in Spider-Man Noir, cool costume, private detective, haunted past, endless aggression AND fights Nazi's. Checks all the boxes of those old time pulp heroes that I have been smitten with lately. I had my eye on this page since it was listed and was a little hesitant on buying until I contacted Dustin and he went through his process with me. I thought it was interesting so I would share: "Hi Steven, sorry for the delay. I really appreciate your interest in the Edge of Spider-Verse pages! I do use computer printout of my rough layouts and then pencil in blue lead over them, and then ink over that I'm not sure if it's interesting to you, but I don't draw my layouts digitally. I start by sketching in my physical sketchbook. Then I scan the sketches and, using photoshop, I put all the sketches together into layouts. Here's a look at a scanned page of sketchbook drawings." Really interesting to read (and see) his processs on how he does his pages from beginning to end, thanks for sharing that info! This is a great noir-feel page, and capped off by that epic half splash shot of Spider-Man Noir with some awesome NYC skyline surrounding him. It is one of the cooler modern versions of Spidey by far from the Spider-Verse, probably because it's actually a throwback instead of another whiny kid (not there's anything wrong with that!). Bring on the Nicolas Cage series!

Very cinematic! This is a throwback to the old detective gumshoe genre and it'll be interesting what Nic Cage does with the character.

Weaver is a god. Love that splashy image with the title worked into the background!

This is one I'd had my eye on for a while, too. Much cooler knowing Dustin's process and getting the behind-the-scenes- thanks for sharing!

I love the storytelling in the top two tiers of panels and they make for a great half-splash with a fantastic point of view!

What an awesome Spider-Man Noir page! Stunning work by Dustin Weaver. I love the opening sequence as it sets up the story with the mysterious goings on in the private detective's office. The detective is drinking heavily, he's got a gunshot wound in his belly and seems to be writing a confession--Or a will. Then we cut to the half-splash with Spider-Man dressed in a 1940s fedora and raincoat, swinging across the Gotham skyline. I love the way the story's title "My Dame. My Destiny." is lettered on the neon sign above one of the buildings. What a cool page! Great pick-up, congrats!

It's nice to get something modern once in awhile.
