Description
Superb pencil/ink/wash art by Tan that really looks “savage”, including a very strong first panel and this issue’s villain Morphicius. According to the labelling this is page 16 in this issue. The content of the story according to www.dc.com: “The exciting conclusion to the Savage Hawkman's first adventure! Hawkman battles his way through Dr. Kane's compound, where the alien monstrosity known as Morphicius is sheltered. But in his quest for alien knowledge, Dr. Kane unknowingly jumpstarts what Morphicius refers to as the Black Plague. Can Hawkman contain this deadly outbreak, or will New York soon become infected with lethal, fast-spreading alien organisms?”

The white paint is a great finishing effect!  It has a ghostly supernatural aura!

Very cool page from Savage Hawkman by Philiop Tan. Love that first panel with Hawkman wading through the water in a sewer. Philip's art here is superb, with a his traditional inks supplemented by a generous use of ink wash which gives Hawkman more soilidity and more weight. In the second panel, Hawkman is spotted by the villain of the story, Morphicius. In the third panel Hawkman notices Morphicius behind him. And in the final panel, he lifts up a sewer pipe and uses the water rushing out of it to fend off the villain. Beautifully composed and marvelously inked, the page is a superb example of Philip Tan's artistry Great pick-up, congrats!
