Description

In a more perfect world, Tim Seeley's Hack/Slash would have been the first attempt at creating an offbeat duo, and Lovebunny & Mr. Hell would have been the followup breakout hit. As a fan of both awkwardly cute female leads and Lovecraftian horror, I always thought the idea had untapped potential. Fortunately, Tim seems to have a soft spot for it and has occasionally returned to the series from time to time.

This page is the setup to the story in "Savage Love". Erik Larsen has let everyone this side of Jack Chick use the Savage Dragon at some point, and the opening of the book has the characters waiting to meet him at a local comic shop. It perfectly captures the relationship between them, with Lovebunny bitchily scolding Mr. Hell for drooling all over the place.

I'd wanted a page featuring both characters drawn by Seeley, and was happy to get this one. I particularly like the second panel in silhouette where they stand out in the crowd of various comic nerd stereotypes.
