Description
Frank Stack aka Foolbert Sturgeon helped pioneer Underground comic books with the publication of the Adventures of Jesus Christ in 1962. He was a professor in the bible belt at the time, hence the nom de plume...he didn't want to lose his chance at tenure. Some have the publication at '62, some at '64, either way it's one of the first. This back cover is Jesus #3 (there's no #1-2). Great humor by a legend.

I was waiting to find Jesus #1 and #2 before reading my copy of Jesus #3.  Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John wrote the first series, each coming in from their own perspective like "Rashomon" and it didn't go well for Jesus.  They somehow found a way to resurrect him.  That's when their messaging got weird and they made fan fiction.  From what I hear, Jesus is now too woke.  I hear he's planning to make another comeback, but this time he's coming back with a vengeance.
