Description
I did it!!

When I was a kid ( age 7), there were 3 comics ( I think mom picked them up at a garage sale) that I read the hell out of: GI Combat 227, Avengers 164, and ASM 174. I read them a millions times. I traced panels from them. Tried to copy panels. Memorized every image. I loved them.

GI Combat 227 especially. As a kid raised on war movies, little green army men, I was fascinated by tanks and planes etc. This comic is how I learned to draw tanks at the time ( I did not go on to have an art or engineering career sad to say).

I really wanted to find a page from GI Combat 227 but never saw any for sale. I was aware of one other story that sold complete. So I was THRILLED when I saw this 8 page complete story from the issue pop up on Heritage.

I love all the pages but I am especially drawn to: page 31, especially the eye in the 5th panel. The detail in the 3rd panel on page 30 and who doesn't love a good title page?

I am delighted to have the origin of something so memorable from my childhood.

Thanks for looking

Awesome, Jason! CONGRATULATIONS! How amazing does it feel to nab, not only a page from one of the most meaningful comics of your childhood, but an entire story? I'm really happy for you, man!

That row of close ups is really nice!  So much tension and inner angst where the story turns!

Huge congrats on nabbing a complete story from one of the issues you remember most from childhood, that's a major collecting accomplishment! This is an awesome title page to kick off the story too.
