DescriptionDr. Fate is one of my favorite characters and this piece by Giffen and wonderfully inked by Mahlstedt is a joy to see. That 1/3 splash of Dr. Fate demonstrating his awesome power and stretching it so that he becomes almost a cosmic being is epic. I am so happy to add this to my collection. I have the overlay as well which is done on tracing paper to accentuate the power effects and shading.I am always looking for art from these back up stories so please don't hesitate to contact me if you are letting anything go. Giffen / Mahlstedt is a potent artistic pairing! A different cosmic power effect displayed in each panel!

Well done, Jared! I bid on this as well. Pleased to see a fellow CAF member won the auction. I was a Freshman when my friend Ronny called me at home one weekend telling me I had to go buy the new issue of the Flash because of this great new artist doing the Dr. Fate backup story. Levitz, Giffen and Mahlstedt were a magic combination that helped resurrect DC alongside Wolfman and Perez. I recently picked up a more modest page from 310 a placeholder until I can find one as magnificent as this.

I remember being somewhat astonished when I featured this page on one of my shows and raving about it, that some viewers had the exact opposite feelings about it. But as I always say, different strokes.......

Jawdropping page featuring Dr. Fate by Keith Giffen! Love that right hand panel with a humongous Dr. Fate astride the world! So cool! Fantastic pick-up, huge congrats!
