DescriptionCaptain America – A Power Punch (2025)By Charles Glaubitz (1973-) 14 x 17 in., ink, pro-white, graphite on Strathmore 500 Coppola Collection Charles Glaubitz is a native of Tijuana. He grew up surfing the beautiful pacific ocean as well as break dancing, bmx, freestyling, skateboarding and reading American superhero comic books. He lives in Playas de Tijuana. He received his BFA at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco in 2001 and has exhibited internationally, while his art has appeared in numerous high-profile publications. The style of his works vary broadly. The stark black and white pieces remind me of woodblock prints and asking him to think about getting these two characters together in battle was what I saw when I was looking at some examples of art he had posted. He was gracious to agree. I wanted a Glaubitz take on the famous "sock old Adolph in the jaw" routine. Social/Sharing |

I obviously think he's got that special something. I'd love to see someone give him a big battle superhero story to do. A remix of the Avengers/Defenders War from the early 1970s would get my vote. I have not asked for it yet, but I'd love to see him do Dormammu.

A scene so good, it kicked off Captain America's first appearance on the cover of issue 1 back in 1941. The Glaubitz treatment charges up the punch as a supereffective final blow!

That was was direction to him. I want that cover punch from CA #1 done as though Cap meant it. I got one more scene coming... another obvious Golden Age pairing that many people have tried AND showed that it is actually hard to pull off.

This is the kind of punch you definately dont get up for the 10-count on. Hell, the 100-count either! Another cool piece from the artist.
